There's a guy in Richmond, Virginia named King Nutt. You could pull off several firsts and a second and maybe a fifth and a seventh because you've got that much invested in. He ended up on the radio now and then talking sports. What happened on Saturday is not gonna happen on Sunday, just like what happened on Friday night doesn't happen on Saturday. He's even got good life advice.
SPEAKER_00You slap your wife, you going to jail. With this kind of talent, he needs a sidekick. We'll call him Fabio. And I like the way you're talking. With cell phone in hand, he's a sports talk freak show.

Championships are over, and I, for one, as the King Nut, are extremely happy that the women loser and the men and loser couldn't be happening to better people. This is Don't Drop the Soap Sports Podcast, and we are extremely opinionated, but without beholden to any. So let me start by saying congratulations to the UCLA women Bruins for running away with it. Secondly, the guy that on the playground as an elementary school would pick on the littlest kid and then wait for a guy like me to come fix it and then kick me in the shin and run to the teacher, he too lost too, and it couldn't happen to a better person. Uh goodbye, Mr. Hurley. Congratulations, Mr. Day, with Michigan. From the loins of North Carolina comes Fabio, Ira Peters. Ira, how are things this fabulous, cool, chilly April morning? They're pretty good, but I did not realize this was the loins of North Carolina. So the loins going for me. It is now. I mean, we we got a bunch of things working on this morning. The loins. Uh Shock Top on draft, which is a bonus for the king here. Today is Wednesday, Bob. All day. Oh, yes. So when today is Wednesday. It's Wednesday today. I'm going up there today to get some wings. How about that? Man's always living in the past. Hey, Ira, two things. You and I talked off recording here. Officiating in college. I thought if that's the best three you got, and you can't see a guy take five steps, we got a problem. They decalled walk on one play, the very next play down. Kid from UConn does a Euro step and a Michael Jordan dance and Michael Jackson dance, and even the announcers give him a cup C. And then we said, hey, here comes UConn again. Give him kudos, a lot of grit. He coaches that way. He's just an easy guy to dislike. What did you see in the game, Ira? What impressed you and what didn't impress you?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, things that impressed me was the inside game that Michigan was able to dominate in. It was horrible. Made zero three pointers in the first half, come back, and still was able to have a lead at halftime, I think a four-point lead. Just didn't lose their composure. Yukon, obviously, they were a gritty team. They fought back there at the end, kept making those runs. It made made me nervous, made you nervous, probably made Michigan nervous as well. You talked about the coach, I mean the uh refereeing. What got me more than anything? They've missed all these walk calls and these phantom fouls a lot, but it felt like to me the last four or five minutes of the game, they completely changed the way that they were uh refereeing the game. Uh they had been physical up until then, uh letting the guys play, and then it became a lot of ticky-tacky fouls. And I and I'm sure to give uh UConn a better chance at the end of the game, to make it more interesting. But once you start calling a game, it's got to stay that way all the way through it. Just like in baseball, once you accept, you know, accept that, establish that strike zone, that that's what it is, or it's what it used to be. Let me put it that way. It's what it used to be throughout the entire game. Really happy for Michigan. First time since 89 that they was able to seal the deal. Coach May uh coming in there two years, taking a team that won eight games a couple years ago, and really just dominating all the way through the entire uh tournament this year and be able to hoist a flag for that team, and that that college is gonna be big for them. So uh good for them. And I think it's what we continue to talk about, how the NIL is playing differently on in these teams. So you're gonna continue to see the big schools that have the lawyers and the doctors and such continue to have this kind of success because that's where all that money's coming from. Good game. Uh enjoyed watching it. Just uh happy the way that ending was. If my team couldn't have won it, I sure the hell didn't want UConn to win it again.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they said this would be the first of many, but it was the first school to ever win a national championship starting five transfers. That'll be a trend until they changed the NIL.
SPEAKER_03What do you think about that, Rodney? Because I got two parts of this question to you. A, the game. I was extremely happy that Michigan won. I am not a Yukon fan by any stretch. It would have been unusual and it would have been nice if the best two teams had been playing at the end of the year. Who were the best two teams? You might say Arizona, but I think Duke and Michigan were the best two teams.
SPEAKER_02I do not, but I that was my part B, my question. Who were the best were the best two teams in it?
SPEAKER_03You have to win to get there. Yep. So it's all decided on the court. Fluky things happen all the time. Every team, big name team's been on both sides of those before. But people don't or have forgotten that Duke in Michigan played earlier this year, and it wasn't a one-point game. Oke beat him. And I think another thing that made that championship game as close as it was was that boy from Michigan being hurt because he was terrible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03He played terrible and they still won. He even openly admitted he was playing terrible.
SPEAKER_02You don't see a kid in an interview go, man, I'm bad. He said I'm lost. Yeah. I'm I'm bad. And the reason I ask you, I knew that you were gonna say Duke, just because I know you too well. But here's what I'd tell you. The 4-1 seeds I thought were right. I I thought the committee got the 4-1 seeds. The three were easy. Yeah. I didn't watch as much college basketball as I normally do because hell, I don't know who I'm watching outside of seeing a uniform now. But I really thought Florida wouldn't have stumbled the way they did, the way they started playing. Now there's two points you said that are very critical. One is Duke beating Michigan earlier. The way college basketball ha used to work, and the way it must still work some is some of those losses early. I r uh Ira and I used to talk about this all the time. Roy Williams would take a loss in November or December, late Nov I mean when he was playing Kentucky, or part of that was in the learning process. So he would put them in bad situations, not use a timeout. And all to find out you got a guy like me standing up in a living room, jumping you moron, call a timeout, do this, and and when you would go and talk to him, all that was part of his learning process. He was teaching them things. So maybe Kentucky beat them then, but maybe they thought that could be a team they'd play later, and there was a learning out of that. And it's particularly when conference play started, that changed. I really thought early on this day, meant he mentioned sec two years in, comes from a small school that he made a good run in. It's like a VCU Shaka moving, Grant Capel, you pick who moved. He moves, he gets there, takes all these NIL, these transfers, gets them, they win a national championship from eight wins a few years ago, like he said, to win the championship. I thought Duke's downfall during the year was the time that they had to play without key players. Even if they were winning, they were playing without those guys getting that experience coming down the to the end of what's gonna happen when we're on the court with four minutes left, with two minutes left. Four seconds left. Whatever it is, but that's not a plight at them. That literally is, I think says a lot. It's who's healthy when.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think it's a difficult situation too. I shouldn't say difficult, I think it's a situation with Duke the last couple of years being so young. But he plays anybody anytime they want to play. They play as tough a schedule as anybody in the country, and I think that's for the reason of what you're saying, trying to see what you're talking about with Carolina and in Kentucky earlier, trying to get to get us to be our best at the end of the year and with them for the last several years. It's been each year's brand new, which a lot of teams are that way now, but having a transfer that comes in that's 22 as opposed to an 18-year-old that walks in, a little bit different situation.
SPEAKER_02And Michigan started two, not and uh you kind of think one, but Michigan didn't start just two of the five, two of the five transfers were grad students, so they had already played the was the kid from Carolina grad student? No, he was a senior, right? Ira senior. So that's a very good point. I I do think that the four ones were right. I thought they were the best four in the country. Illinois was a a surprise, but probably could have been a two, you know, and they look back and they evaluate, and they're arrogant people. When they do that, they'll come out and go, Well, the committee worked really hard.
SPEAKER_03Explain to me how in the world the Big East tournament champion that team beat the other team two out of three and beat them handily one of the times via five seed and the runner-up of all that be a two-seed. That doesn't make any sense. How how is Connecticut a two and St. John's a five? Had nothing to do with where people finished and stuff. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying it makes no sense. How the twos and threes and fours were ahead of St. John's.
SPEAKER_02Well, Ira, I think the way they do it is get the first four in, those sixty six five through sixty-eight, you know, the last four in, I'm sorry. Then they get the first four in, and now we say we're happy with the sixty-eight. Now let's go back and seed them. So you have to go backwards. So if you go to the front, that's where they pick the ones. Definitely. I think what happens when you get to the twos, the threes, the fours, and the fives, remember fives are always prone for that 12-5 upset that happens every year.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_02Used to never happen with 6'11. However, with 19-point lead, no six is safe. I'll just say that. Ever again. In fact, no one is safe for that matter with a 19-point lead. But Ira, I think they go backside in first, and then they start the inner circle in ones and go out. Isn't that correct?
SPEAKER_04That's how it feels like. I don't honestly know. I think I think they're picking matchups, is what it feels like, or future matchups is what what it appears uh when I see some of those brackets.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. But how how do you explain a two and a five? That's 15 teams between them somewhere in that neighborhood. And the one that's a five, it's not like there was a huge difference in their record. And head to head, I beat you two out of three, I won the regular season, and I won the tournament championship. And you get a two road, and I get a five.
SPEAKER_02What created that ranking. Here's the bottom line. Staley lost and Hurley lost, and I'm happy. That's the bottom line. And because I got the damn board in front of me, I can shut it off at any time, just say we're done there. Ira, 30 seconds for this. I'm gonna throw this to you. I'm gonna give Rodney 30 seconds as the hate and with respect hate. Carolina is declined from three big major college coaches. A guy at Iowa State says, no thanks, I'm staying. Arizona, no thanks, I'm staying. And Day at Michigan, no thanks, I just won the national championship. And they all got money, right? All the schools knew that they were talking, they got money. So they go at a almost a Bella Czech rate and go get Michael Malone, a guy that won an NBA championship as a coach, won 500 games in so many years. Good hire, why hire Ira?
SPEAKER_04I like the hire. It came out of nowhere for me as well. Uh, like you just said, he's 2023 champ, uh, two-time coach of the year, won 500 games, just like you said. He's a good leader of men. He's uh what we're gonna continue to see is the NBA coaching getting younger, and uh, I think your college coaching is gonna get a little bit older. That's what it feels like is the trend has become opposite here as of the last couple of years of what we have seen. But if the NL NIL continues to be the way it is, and you saw two mature teams there at the end playing for the national championship, uh, instead of going to NBA, you're gonna see some of these guys hang around for a year or longer, and that Mike Malone will be able to benefit those type of players that want to hang around. Should be good at recruiting. It's very similar to what the NBA is now, except these guys aren't under contract, they're recruiting every year. But I do like the I'd like to hire, um, makes him the second highest page coach uh in uh college basketball. I do like what they've done. Uh going outside to family sometimes is a good thing in in the situations like this. And uh solid hire. I you took a year off from basketball. After the year he got fired, he was a 60% win rate that year and still got terminated. So he knows that the expectations are going to be high. And whether you like Hubert Davis or not, they've just proved that what he was doing wasn't enough for Carolina alumni and uh nor the fan base, so they was willing to make the move. And I think uh taking a good shot on Mike Malone is the right direction.
SPEAKER_02Rodney, does that mean by the three college coaches declining that brand no longer holds the weight?
SPEAKER_03That is what it seems like, because there's no way in the world five years, ten years ago, that someone wouldn't leave Iowa State to come to UNC unless it's their school they went to and they're just they've got a soft heart. The other two of them.
SPEAKER_02You would have left Michigan or Arizona to go in a second. I don't know if you all recall this. I do because he's still a dumbass for leaving. He missed the NIT at Marquette this year, but Shaka Smart once made the statement that he would only leave VCU for five jobs. You recall what those five jobs were? Duke, Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, or UCLA. Now, he went to Texas, goodbye. You you didn't you didn't uphold your but when you say that I'll only leave for five jobs, what he was saying, in my opinion, was here are the five legacy, and I don't know why Texas was in there, because at the time they weren't a basketball, it was a football school, but he knew they had money. But if you think of the other four footballs, look at the other four Duke, Carolina, UCLA, and Kentucky. One could argue that over our lifetime, those have been the four biggest brands in college basketball.
SPEAKER_03Totally agree. Four biggest brands. You have to be our age, because if you're not our age and a little younger, UCLA wouldn't be in there. Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_02But even UCLA was even when UCLA had fallen off, they were a tournament content. Every year they were in the tournament. One under Jim Harris. They did, yeah. So that I mean it was good. Who was their star player then? Ed O'Banon. Oh, yeah, yeah, O'Banny. Yeah, I remember that. Okay. Basketball's done. We get to pack that away. We've got the draft coming. Uh, Rodney and I are gonna go post show downstairs. I'm gonna let him pick the his Vikings. I'm gonna let him do a mock because I'm doing 15 of them a day just when I'm on a conference call that I'm not paying attention to. I'm usually right clicking. Yeah, that's what I got. Click on the wrist. Draft is coming. It's in Pittsburgh. A lot's gonna happen. We're gonna turn that up, so I don't want to, you know, there's really no nothing's happening, so I want to go away from it. The Masters is coming. Rodney, to you first. What does the Masters as a golf fan mean to you? Do you pay attention to that?
SPEAKER_03It's where everything starts. It's where the season starts. I know there's tournaments before them. There's some big tournaments, but the masters is the tournament. Now, do you watch on that Sunday?
SPEAKER_02I try to watch Sunday in particular. Yeah. And it's where you learn too, like, damn, I didn't know that kid was that good. You always get that guy you pull for.
SPEAKER_03Then you also have that moment where you're saying, I hope he hits us in the water and you don't like him. Or your guy, Nicholas, hits this amazing shot or hits this great putt. They were talking about that putt on 16, I think it was 16, uh, the other day, or had a conversation with him, and he said, I was looking at that, his son was his caddy, was looking at it, and they saw it different ways. He said, It always goes towards Ray's Creek and hit the putt. He said, I went back out, I hit that putt 25 times and didn't make it once.
SPEAKER_02That's normal for me, a putt putt.
SPEAKER_03But in the moment, he made it.
SPEAKER_02I know that you're bigger into it and take money from people innocently on a golf course to people that are, you know, guests of your home and your course. Uh but other than that, I know you're a big golf fan. Uh, what does this weekend mean to you? Is it very similar to what Rodney just said? Is it the start or is it a confirmation?
SPEAKER_04It's one of the top couple of sporting events that I'd I won't miss a year. I mean, this is this is a big deal. It's the big one. We talked about it on the last podcast that you know it's played at the same place, the same venue each year, unlike any other. I mean, even words that announcers aren't allowed to use. I mean, they're not fans, they're they're patrons. It's not the rough, it's the second cut. I mean, it's just different uh when it comes to that. And uh limited field gets into it. I mean, we got big name players that aren't in it. Ricky Fowler, he didn't qualify. I mean, how Ricky Fowler wasn't invited. He can't play uh as popular as he is. You have to earn your way into this event. It's not something that's given. Once they make that turn on Sunday, anything can happen, and anything has happened in the past from Greg Norman's collapse with Nick Faldo winning his third jacket there to Tiger taking the two two more than the two club drop on on whole 15, I believe, that year, to him chipping in on that par three. I mean, there's so many iconic things happen. And what for me is you know on Sunday where those pin placements are going to be. And you know when a guy hits a shot into a green, what what's expected because of all the history that we've seen on that golf course. And uh I've never been, but they say this golf course TV doesn't do it justice from the elevation from the front of the green to the back of the green, all the contours of it. Most amateur golfers could start on the green and still not be able to beat up, beat these pros. So that's saying something how fast it is, how much it turns, but man, what a great event. Uh, they do a great job. It's a tradition like none others, just like we've heard before.
SPEAKER_02Well, you're the expert, and I need to bet. So who are the three favorites? You know, Scheffler and who else?
SPEAKER_04I don't have Scheffler in my top three. That's what I want to hear, buddy. Losing money. He's gonna be there, but I just don't think he'll win it. I'm gonna give you two people I think are gonna run, uh be in it, and uh, and in a long shot. Uh I guess if you make the field, you're anybody could win it. But John Rahm's playing really good right now, the big Spaniard. And also, I told you last week, I think uh Bryson D.Chambaud. I think you'll see those two guys coming down the stretch. And I know a lot of people don't like the live tournament. It has gone to 72 holes, and it's going to make these guys a lot sharper. And they've been tooth and nail the last couple of uh tournaments, uh, seeing who's going to win it with Bryson squeaking a couple of those out. But a guy that's come out of nowhere here recently is Nikolai Hogard. He's a Danish player, and he is phenomenal right now. Uh his ball striking has been on point. I would look for one of those three guys to be there at the end and be able to uh wear that green jacket this year. Definitely Scotty will be there, those type of players. But I think it's time for these guys to put their dominance back on the PGA.
SPEAKER_03I'm a Scheffler guy. I know Bubba's really upset that Tiger's not going to be there. But I I think I was on phone with the president. That's what he said. I rolled that bitch, but hell, I was on with Don. He said I was oh good. It was all good. He didn't say president of this president. I I think Scheffler's gonna win. I think he will come back to form. He's been putting really well, and his irons have been struggling some. Yeah. But I think he will put it all together this week.
SPEAKER_02Well, post when we're done, Ira, I need ten names via text because I got to pick six of them on my pick six there. And I I like Rom basically because I think he's a guy I'd like to eat with. If you look at him, he and I could probably tear some wings at Game Day Grill up on today on Wednesday. Yeah, he's not afraid of a meal. I'll guarantee you his ass ain't missed a fork before. And I'd bet believe he'd probably sit down and have a bourbon with old Bub. It just looks like that. Now, DeChambeau, he might not eat with me, but I think he might throw back some straight beam with me, too. You'd want him on your side if you got no scrap, I believe, as well. I I hope that he'd look at me and say, shit, if we're gonna fight, I want old boy there with me. He got a little fired up in the rider cup. He did. He did. I love that. I love that. Yeah. I mean, nobody says this doesn't have to be a contact sport. Happy Gilmore made it good. He punched Bob Barker. I mean, yeah, it didn't work out when Bob didn't even flinch. I'm gonna give Rodney this question because Ira and I aren't experts. I know you're just gonna say the Yankees. Baseball's out of the gates. We're 10 games in for some teams, 11, 12 in. Shocking so far to you of who's good, Rodney?
SPEAKER_03Well, until they went to New York, the Marlins were six and one or five and one, so they started off really well. But the the two that are surprising to me, and I guess one shouldn't be surprising because they were good last year. But Milwaukee and Cincinnati have both gotten off to a good start. Everybody expects the Dodgers to be there, but I don't think they should have won it last year. But it doesn't matter, they did. But I don't think they're gonna come out of the national side. Are they gonna win the West, though? Uh probably so. Because I think the only one that can play with them is San Diego, and they always go through stretches where they struggle.
SPEAKER_02Uh baseball is usually don't worry, don't sweat these first two weeks. We don't want to go three and ten, but don't sweat the, you know, let's get into playing and see what happens. And it's a game of streaks, right? You get four or five game winning streaks or four or five game losing streaks. The guys from the Giants, I paid close attention to a preseason interview. The guys from the Giants said, Hey, the first two weeks of this season are very critical to this team to see A, we don't lose sight of who's ahead of us. We think we got some things good, some minor league players. Where are the Giants right now?
SPEAKER_03They're five and a half games out. Okay. They've only played twelve. Okay. So the first three games of the year, they played the Yankees and they didn't score a run. That that's my point.
SPEAKER_02So they knew what was happening, right? And then you got teams like the Pirates that give you false hope. But the Pirates do have some they're they got some talent. I mean, they've had some pitching, but they've got some offensive talent that's helping. The Braves look like they're getting back into form. They've lost a couple games, I think, in a row. They may have won last night, but they they they've lost a couple games. In the American League, though, the same team that said that are the Guardians still winning the their division? They are. Okay. They're another team that said this first two weeks would be critical to them based on some DL players that are coming back. Ira, when you look at baseball, what is troubling you the most right now through two weeks?
SPEAKER_04I don't know if it's troubling, but this where they can challenge balls and strikes is is a game changer, man. It really is. I I can't believe how many are getting missed. Good and bad, but all the the bad ones sometimes are really bad. Some of these umpires are missing about three, four, or five inches at times. And uh it does slow the game down a little bit. It doesn't slow it down as much as I thought it would. But in critical times, I like I like for us to be able to get things right in sports. So this will be a tool going forward that we can use it. But it's such a long season. The way you pointed out, the first two weeks don't mean a lot unless you're the Red Sox, right? Right now, they won three games. Probably means a lot to them being six game, five or six games back already.
SPEAKER_03Shame they're not eight games back.
SPEAKER_04Or hadn't won a game, right? One of the two.
SPEAKER_03Oh and sixty. Oh sixty.
SPEAKER_02This dude may be the only guy on the planet that's more one-sided than I am. You know what I'm saying? I could see one time during a basketball game of somebody going to block his kid shot, and Rodney accidentally tripping that kid. Because I did that at the same time. And here's what's weird. You usually get the Carolina cowboy Yankee guy. This guy's got every color on the planet. He's a Viking Yankee Duke. Who else? He's his own rainbow. Yeah, he is, man. He's got it. You mentioned this, and Rodney, I want to get your opinion of this. We talked about Glavin used to start right on the edge of the black, and by the fifth inning, he was getting four inches outside as a strike. It was his calling card. Him and Maddox both. Maddox was a master. But now when he talked about the replay, doesn't that affect us some badly? I I don't mean badly. You want the call right, I agree with Hira. But doesn't that have some effect on us giving that person that can work it an advantage?
SPEAKER_03The other part of this is you only have a certain amount of challenges you can do. Yeah. So I I just say this because the game I was watching the other day by the third inning, one team had already used all their challenges. They I think you can miss a couple. Yeah. That's it. This is going to be probably very similar to the NBA where you have so many challenges and people will not use them early. But if it's egregious, you got you can't wait.
SPEAKER_02I mean, if it's egregious and you know it'll be overturned, you gotta take it. But you're still limited on how many you get. I know, I get it.
SPEAKER_03So you're in the sec you're in the second inning, it's two outs, nobody on, you got an O two count, and they call something a ball that you think's a strike, you might get the out there, but you may need that challenge later. Yeah, you're allowed two unsuccessful, and then you're out. I'd lose in the third second inning, and then I'd be out in the fourth inning from Costing Adam. They had one last night, I think it was with Cincinnati. I'm not sure what team it was, but it was uh two innings in a row. They threw a pitch and they called it a ball, and the catcher challenged, and both of them were strikes inning over with people on base. So they like you said, that's a game changer.
SPEAKER_02How do you miss? All right, enough of that. We're gonna finish with this. Richard Petty said this week that Martinsville ought to have three races. Nobody should ever think about cutting. He goes, it's the one true track they go to that everybody gets on it, and whoever can drive that heap the best, there's no arrow, there's no, you know, you gotta get it tight and loose, has to be fixed, and you gotta have horsepower. But the person that's got that grit, Moxie, uh balls, if you will, is the one that can take it in there. And he talked about the 77 car being as equal to the three cars early years, and I know that Petty tells a story the first time Earnhardt came to Martinsville. Petty was starting fifth, and Earnhart was in seventh, and by the first turn his car was on Petty's hood where he'd cut through the grass and everything trying to do it, and Petty had to give him the finger, and I don't mean the middle one, the one, the big long one that hits him in the chest to tell him why. And he said he acted like he listened to me. So he said that after that I didn't have much issue with the time it was a two-car. He was driving the two, two being a Wrangler car. Wrangler. Ira, uh Martinsville, did it give us all we expected it would?
SPEAKER_04I thought Martinsville was a good race, and you and Richard said it really well. It's a track where uh mechanical horsepower is more than and the driver is more than aerodynamics. That's why you saw uh the Chevrolets be able to perform well. That with that new body, they haven't been able to get their arrow package right, and it didn't matter there. So uh that was a way that um Ninecar was able to take advantage of that race, you know, with some timely cautions as well. But uh yeah, I think you'll continue to see the Chevies get better. Uh but yeah, Martinsville deserves, it doesn't deserve to lose anything. It's one of the original tracks of of NASCAR. It's been there 50-some years. I mean, they built a track uh with a and diverted it around a pond. I mean, outside of the outside of a train track stove down in behind it. Got the famous hot dogs there. I mean, it's it's an iconic track for NASCAR, and I'd be a shame if they ever uh lost any of those venues. And I think NASCAR understands their base customer once they're starting to learn it, going back to North Wilkesboro, those type of tracks versus the cookie cutter mile and a half that they went to uh in the early 2000s, where every race felt like it was the same race. And uh here at least you have to be uh a multifaceted driver to be able to win a lot of these cup races now.
SPEAKER_02Ironic that two iconic things happen real close the Masters and Martinsville. And I don't I don't think it's by accident where a NASCAR places that race because of the the history behind the events and and what's going on with history there. And you got Bristol this weekend. Yeah. Damn Toyota didn't win, so I was happy. Dodge is coming back, people. I'm telling you, that's this ram. It'd be a battle between them Dodges and them Toyotas. SPEAKER_04Anyway. Last week it was a real hot debate on NASCAR Hall of Fame. Just want to get your guys' opinion on it real quick. A guy like Matt Crafton won three uh Truck Series Championships. Should he or should he not be in the NASCAR Hall of Fame?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I say too low. I know I know that we brought Ray Hendrick in it, and Hendrick won a bunch of modified, but it was a different era, different sport. I think and and I so Rodney, this is not gonna mean anything to you, Ira, but i as I sit on a Hall of Fame committee for softball, and the argument used to be is he had to play at a certain level, right? And then you got realizing that that level doesn't exist anymore or hadn't existed, or you have to kind of change with the times. Uh if that was the case, Mark Martin would have gone in on just his damn what'd they call it then? Nationwide. Nationwide Bush Bush series. I mean, hell he didn't unload a car. He wasn't the baddest guy on the track. Uh so he would have gone just for that. So I don't think Crafton belongs, Rodney. Or not yet.

SPEAKER_04I would think he just retired. He's done. Yeah, but so you got like a Justin Allguyer that won a championship last year, has won 30 Xfinity races.
SPEAKER_02Same thing. He was a failure when he went to the cup. And I he was he drove a Dodge. I pulled for the guy. He drove the 40 car for Sabati. When Sabatis changed all those cars from Chevy to Dodge, it was a 40, 41, and 42. No, he drove the 41. It was Sterling. Sterling didn't lose the Kerr's like carry. No, yeah, but when it went to Dodge, it was Montoya. Juan Pablo Montoya. Felix Sabatos. Felix. Kyle Petty said the best guy ever, one of the best guys I ever met. And I just drag it to an end. Two things got to know. Next week, folks, we're going to cover off the how the Masters ended, touch on a little bit. Everything about that's coming to this draft. We're going to get into some football. We're going to dial into a few teams. I'll give these guys some uh teams per division to see what they think their biggest need is.
